Halloween season has officially arrived at the Disneyland Resort, and what better way to kick things off than with a little pumpkin hunting?

The Downtown Disney Pumpkin Pursuit is back for another year, giving Disney fans a fun way to celebrate the Halloween season and one of the best things about this particular scavenger hunt is that you don’t need a Disneyland park ticket to participate!

Whether you’re heading to Downtown Disney for dinner, shopping, or just looking for a little Halloween fun, the Pumpkin Pursuit is an easy way to add some seasonal magic to your visit.

What Is the Pumpkin Pursuit?

The Pumpkin Pursuit is a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt throughout Downtown Disney District. Your mission is simple: pick up a game card, explore Downtown Disney, and search for the specially decorated pumpkins hidden throughout the district.

Once you’ve found them all, you’ll turn in your completed game card and receive this year’s collectible prize.

And yes, I’ll be showing you where to find the pumpkins, so consider this your spoiler warning!

How Much Does It Cost?

A Pumpkin Pursuit game card is $11.99, with Magic Key discounts available.

And because the activity takes place in Downtown Disney, you don’t need a theme park ticket or reservation to participate. That makes this a particularly fun option if you’re looking for a little Disney Halloween experience without spending the day inside the parks.

What’s the Objective?

The goal is to find all of the hidden pumpkins throughout Downtown Disney.

Grab your game card, head out on your pumpkin hunt, and keep track of each pumpkin you discover. Once you’ve completed the hunt, return your card to redeem your prize. **You can also redeem your prize at purchase, the game card does not have to be completed.

It’s a simple activity, but it gives you a reason to wander around Downtown Disney and explore some of the areas you might otherwise walk right past.

What’s the Prize?

Here’s where this year’s Pumpkin Pursuit gets especially fun.

Instead of receiving the same prize every time, the 2026 Pumpkin Pursuit prize is a blind bag!

There are five different character designs to collect, but you won’t know which one you’ve received until you open the bag.

Which means, naturally, completing the Pumpkin Pursuit once may not be enough if you’re trying to collect all five.

The Pumpkin Pursuit is officially my kickoff to Halloween season, and I love that it’s something you can do at Downtown Disney without needing a park ticket.

It’s quick, festive, and gives you an excuse to do a little Halloween shopping, grab a snack, and hunt for pumpkins along the way.
