Can you believe there are only two weekends left to celebrate Halloween at the Disneyland Resort? If you’ve been meaning to make one more visit before the pumpkins come down and the winter holiday season takes over, now is the time!

Halloween Time at Disneyland is one of my favorite times of year. Between the festive decorations, seasonal treats, Halloween ride overlays and all the spooky merchandise, there is so much to enjoy beyond just visiting the parks.

If you’re planning one last Halloween trip, here are my tips for making the most of the remaining season at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

1. Take in the Halloween on Main Street U.S.A.

Main Street is a must-see during Halloween Time! Take a moment to enjoy the festive decorations, snap a photo with the giant Mickey pumpkin (Blinky), and soak in all the Halloween details.

This is also a great spot to see Disney characters dressed in their Halloween outfits during meet-and-greets, catch performances by the Disneyland Band, and watch the Halloween cavalcade as it makes its way through the park.

Tip: Character appearances, band performances, and cavalcade times can vary, so be sure to check the Disneyland app for the latest schedule during your visit.

2. Grab Your Favorite Seasonal Food and Snacks

Halloween is a great excuse to try something new at the Disneyland Resort, and there are seasonal treats to look for throughout Halloween Time.

Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, a themed snack or a seasonal drink, take a look at the current Halloween food offerings before your visit and decide which ones you want to try.

Here’s my confession: pumpkin-flavored things aren’t really my thing. So while I love the Halloween atmosphere, I’m not necessarily reaching for every pumpkin spice treat I see!

The good news is that you don’t have to love pumpkin flavor to enjoy the seasonal food scene. Look for other fall-inspired flavors and regular menu favorites, too.

My tip: Check the current Disneyland Resort Halloween food guide before heading out. Seasonal items can sell out or become unavailable, so if there’s something specific you’ve been wanting to try, prioritize it rather than assuming it will still be there on your next visit.

3. Shop the Halloween Merchandise Before It’s Gone

If you’ve been eyeing Halloween merchandise, now is a good time to browse the shops. Some seasonal pieces are beginning to be marked down, which could make this a great opportunity to pick up something you’ve been wanting.

It’s also a chance to shop with next year in mind!

Think Halloween shirts, accessories, home décor and other seasonal finds that you can pack away and bring out when spooky season rolls around again.

I love the idea of finding a piece you can enjoy now and then rediscover next fall. And if you’ve been waiting for a particular item to go on sale, it may be worth checking the shops during your visit.

My tip: Don’t assume every Halloween item will be discounted, and remember that markdowns and availability vary by location. If you find something you really want, consider whether it’s worth waiting for a deeper discount when it might sell out first.

4. Experience the Halloween Ride Overlays

Make time for these seasonal ride transformations before Halloween Time ends!

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday – The Nightmare Before Christmas takes over, and it continues into the winter holiday season.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark – The Halloween version of the Guardians attraction at Disney California Adventure.
  • Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween – A Halloween twist on Luigi’s ride in Cars Land.
  • Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree – Mater brings spooky fun to his Cars Land attraction.

Don’t Forget the Pumpkin Pursuits!

If you haven’t participated in the Pumpkin Pursuits yet, there’s still time to add a little seasonal scavenger hunt fun to your visit! You can find them at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and the Downtown Disney District.

I’ve shared my experiences and tips for all three, so be sure to check out my previous posts before heading out!

Now I’m curious: What’s the one Halloween thing you always make time for at Disneyland? Let me know and I’ll see you in the parks!
