If you’re a Disneyland fan, D23 2026 gave us A LOT to talk about.

The Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event brought updates on some of the biggest projects already in the works at Disneyland Resort.

From a Tomorrowland reimagining at Disneyland Park to new attractions coming to Avengers Campus, Coco and Avatar at Disney California Adventure, there is a lot changing at the Disneyland Resort over the next few years.

Here’s everything Disneyland and Disney California Adventure announced at D23 2026.

Disneyland Is Reimagining Tomorrowland

One of the biggest Disneyland announcements came with surprisingly few details: Tomorrowland is getting a major reimagining.

Disney says the future project will bring new attractions, more open spaces and new places for guests to dream about the future. The announcement is part of the larger look toward Disneyland’s future, especially with the park’s 75th anniversary coming in 2030.

And yes, Disneyland fans immediately started asking the obvious question: What does this mean for the PeopleMover track?

For now, Disney hasn’t announced a return of the PeopleMover, nor has it revealed exactly which existing Tomorrowland attractions will be changed or replaced.

So, for the moment, we’re going to have to wait and see what Disney Imagineering has planned, but after years of piecemeal changes to Tomorrowland, the promise of a larger reimagining is definitely worth watching.

Avengers Campus Expansion Gets a 2028 Opening

The Avengers Campus expansion isn’t exactly new news it was originally announced at D23 in 2024, but this year’s announcement finally gave us something Disneyland fans have been waiting for: A 2028 opening.

The expansion will double the size of Avengers Campus and add two new attractions:

• Avengers Infinity Defense
• Stark Flight Lab

Disney also revealed that the expanded area will eventually reconnect Avengers Campus with Cars Land, creating a new way to move between the two areas of Disney California Adventure.

The Coco Ride Is Getting Closer at Disney California Adventure

Miguel is getting his own ride!

The first-ever Coco attraction in a Disney park is currently under construction at Disney California Adventure, and D23 gave fans another look at what’s being created.

The attraction will take guests into the Land of the Dead, following Miguel and the characters from Pixar’s Coco.

Disney previously confirmed that the attraction would feature music and characters from the film, along with new Audio-Animatronics technology.

One of the more interesting details shown at D23 was a new statue of Héctor, giving fans another clue about the story and setting of the attraction.

There is still no official opening date, but construction is well underway.

And if you’ve visited Disney California Adventure recently, you may have noticed just how much construction is happening behind Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens Park.

Three Disneyland Favorites Are Returning in 2027

Now for the announcements that had Disneyland fans cheering.

Disney is bringing back three fan-favorite entertainment offerings in 2027:

Remember… Dreams Come True

The Disneyland fireworks spectacular will return in February 2027 with an updated version of the show.

In addition to projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the new version will use projections at:

• Rivers of America
• “it’s a small world”
• Main Street, U.S.A.

The show will run nightly, with fireworks on select evenings.

If you’ve never experienced Remember… Dreams Come True, this is definitely one to put on the list.

World of Color Returns to Disney California Adventure

Over at Disney California Adventure, the original World of Color is coming back in February 2027.

This will be an updated version of the original show, featuring stories from Disney Animation and Pixar, including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Toy Story.

The musical score will also incorporate a special arrangement of the classic Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color television theme.

After all of the different versions of World of Color we’ve seen over the years, I’m very curious to see what Disney considers the “updated” version of the original.

Magic Happens Returns

And finally, Magic Happens is returning to Disneyland Park in summer 2027.

The daytime parade will once again feature Mickey and friends along with floats inspired by Disney and Pixar stories including Cinderella, The Sword in the Stone and Coco.

For anyone who was sad to see Magic Happens disappear, this is a pretty great comeback.

So What’s Coming to Disneyland Resort?

There’s a lot happening—and not all of it is happening at once.

The Disneyland Resort’s current major project lineup now looks something like this:

And that’s before we even get into everything already changing around the Disneyland Resort.

The Bottom Line

D23 2026 wasn’t necessarily the year of a dozen brand-new Disneyland attractions. Instead, Disney gave us a few teasers and updates on projects we already knew were coming.

And honestly? I’m probably most excited about the entertainment announcements.

Getting Remember… Dreams Come True, the original World of Color and Magic Happens back in the same year feels like a pretty good reason to start planning a Disneyland trip for 2027.

Now we just have to wait and see what Disney actually does with Tomorrowland.

2027 and 2028 are going to be very interesting years at Disneyland Resort.
